My Cutie Pie

Here's a few of the more recent pictures of my little girl.

The first is one from tummy time, which she usually hates with a passion, but she was enjoying herself today!  She can get up on her knees and get her butt in the air a little.  Her arms aren't strong enough yet to support the other end of her body for crawling, but it won't be long!!

Here's a picture of the two of us cuddling together this morning.  She loves to cuddle with her mommy! :)

We love going outside!  The weather is actually on the verge of being good permanently!  Yesterday was beautiful and we spent a long time outside.  Then she took a BIG nap! :)

Playing in her bouncer!  Emelia loves to bounce, even when she's not in her bouncer!  When someone is holding her, she tries to bounce even then! :)

Lastly, Emelia playing with her feet and loving every minute of it!

PEE!

Last night was bath night for Emelia.  She LOVES her baths and if her skin didn't dry out so much we'd give her a bath every night!  I'm still in the process of finding a nice soap and lotion combination that keeps her skin nice and soft and moist.

Anyway, while I got her little tub ready I had John undress her and bring her into the bathroom.  When I do that, I usually leave her diaper on and take her diaper off in the bathroom RIGHT before putting her in the water.  Well, John decided to take her diaper off in her room and carry her into the bathroom naked.  Unfortunately, I didn't have the water yet, so I had him hold her a few minutes while the tub got partially filled.

All of a sudden, he said "Oh Honey!  You need to take her!" and he had this hilarious look on his face.  I said, "What, did she pee on you?" not really being serious, just joking, and he said "Yeah, she did."

Did I ever laugh my ASS off!!  Sure enough, when I took her, there was pee on John's shirt.  I laughed and laughed.  John didn't appreciate me laughing at him, but after I told him she has peed and pooped on me in the past, he wasn't so mad about it.

Ahhh, the joys of being parents! :)

Cereal and Sippy Cups

We are now well into the process of learning and mastering eating cereal.  We are using the Rice cereal with Apple in it.  We did the plain rice cereal for a while, but she didn't care too much for that.  Since we've switched to the apple cereal, she seems to be doing a little better.  She still doesn't seem to care too much for it, tries to spit it out, but she does eventually get it all in and she seems to be getting the hang of it a little bit more.  We now have daycare giving her some cereal once a day there, too, so hopefully Emelia will get the hang of it to the point where we can start trying some other foods like peas, beans, and eventually some fruits.  Emelia does get all messy, staying true to being a baby, but it's so darn cute and fun to be doing something new!

Last night we introduced a sippy cup to her, too.  She was more interested in chewing on the spout, but she did try to get some of the milk out of it.  I figured it can't hurt to introduce the thing to her and get her started on that.  I bought a sippy cup for her to take to daycare, too, and try that!

It is fun to do all this new stuff, but it gets to be a little discouraging when she doesn't want to cooperate every time, but then I just have to remind myself that she is learning, too, and that this is all new to her!  Similar to when she was first born and learning how to nurse and adapt to the life outside of the womb!  She is a smart baby and will get it eventually!
